PFD Leash
A safety leash attached to your PFD allows you to tie onto other objects to pull them behind you. It can also be used in safety rescues when tying into a rope for a swimming rescue. I must only ever be used with a PFD equipped with a quick release harness (like the Hiko Guardian), that allows you to release the leash if you get into trouble.
The leash is equipped with a stainless steel D ring to make the connexion between it and the quick release belt on the PFD and has an elastic core to dimmish shocks when pulling something. It is 1m long. A carabiner is not supplied.
Mekong Tip: Only carry and use a leash if you know how to use it properly and have had formal training! Be careful when you put your PFD on not to trap the leash under a buckle or strap that would not allow it to be freed if necessary!
