Who is Jekyll & Ride?

Technical specifications

Our packrafts are handcrafted in our workshop, based in the south of France, between the Drôme river and the Vercors mountains.

CONSTRUCTION
We don't use a drop of glue to stick our boats together: each piece of fabric is completely welded to the rest using high frequency welding, a technology capable of giving the best results in terms of strength and durability. Each weld is actually stronger than the fabric itself.

Tri-axial reinforcements in 210 denier nylon are welded all around the interior of the packraft to better distribute the forces on the boat and guaranty a strong structure.

MATERIALS
The sidewalls of Jekyll & Ride are made of 210 denier high tenacity nylon with a double coat of TPU. The floor is 840 denier nylon with a double TPU coating, which is extremely resistant to abrasion.

Our packrafts are fitted with D7 Leafield valves, the most robust and durable valve around. The D7 therefore has a lifetime warranty.

We use Superseal Tizip's™ for our internal storage system as well as tactical aluminium buckles for the tie downs. Our cushions come with one way, low profile, valves that have a quick deflation tab.

INTERNAL STORAGE
Are you heading out on a multi.day expedition and need to carry lots of gear and provisions? With the internal storage system will allow you to keep it all inside your boats, safe and dry. This will also free up space on the front of the boat for extra gear such as your bike.

THIGH BRACES
Looking for precison and controlled paddling? Our ergonomic thigh braces will allow you to become one with the packraft and offer optimal control in whitewater. The best paddlers will even be able to eskimo roll!

FOOT BRACE (OPTION)
If your packraft is slightly too long for you, you can choose to add an inflatable foot brace. Light and compact, it will give you a better control in white water.

HOW TO CHOOSE MY PACKRAFT ?

We build your packrafts to your design and therefore have limited stock. Our lead time can vary from one to five months but is subjected to the volume of orders. If you would like to find out the exact delay, please give us a call. In any case, if you have a trip or expedition coming up with a cut-off date, it’s best to order as early as possible!

Pablo is available in two sizes, Standard or Plus. The choice will depend on both your heigh as well as how much gear you plan to carry. If you are taller than 1.80 or you plan to bikeraft frequently with a bike on the front, then the Plus size will be best for you. In other cases, opt for the Standard.

Available colours to choose from:
– Yellow, Orange, Red & Black, the colourful Dr Jekyll
– Camo & Black, the darker Mr Ride
– Orange & Black (Armor fabric, 125€ extra)

It is also possible to completely customise the look of your boat, by adding a 50€ surcharge. Until our e-shop is modified, please state your desired colours in the comments when you order.

The internal storage system consists of an airproof zipper (Superseal by Tizip) that is welded to the back of your packraft. By opening the zip you have access to the inside of the boat and can store you gear (tent, sleeping bags, backpack…) safely. Think about it like turning your packraft into a giant dry-bag. You have over 150L to store your gear. More than enough space for even those that can’t leave home without the kitchen sink. Zip it up and you are off!

The internal storage system is extremely practical for those who go on an expedition over several days or weeks and need to bring a large quantity of equipment and provisions. It is also of great interest during bike-rafting outings where the front of the packraft is already occupied by your bike. During day trips, it is not so essential, but simplifies life.

Please remember that the Tizip needs to be treated delicately and cleaned regularly. Because of this is is excluded from our warranty, like other manufacturers. If you zip is damaged or dirty it will leak slightly. In conclusion, if you are not someone who is not very careful with their equipment, maybe you should think carefully about adding this option.

A removable deck is very similar to a classic spray deck, but you can remove it by unzipping it from the main body of the packraft.

What are the advantages? You will have a more versatile packraft, and will be able to paddle with or without a spraydeck. Leave it at home if you want to save some extra grams (about 900 grams for the spray deck + spray skirt + backrest) ! Please note that some water can penetrate the water resistant zippper, and is therefore not as waterproof as the fixed spraydeck. We recommend it up to class II rivers.
